Very fragrant white flowers from the bitter orange tree. The essential oil is obtained via steam distillation of the freshly picked flowers.
Therapeutic benefits:
- Cardiovascular system : beneficial for the heart as it regulates heart rhythm and helps to reduce cramp like nervous heart conditions. Is also beneficial for hypertension and palpitations.
- Digestive system : relieve spams of the smooth muscles of the digestive system. Is benefical for chronic diarrhoea, espeically if it arises from nervous tension.
- Nervous system : regarded as one of the most effective sedative and antidepressant remedies, making it recommended for insomnia, anxiety and depression.
- Skin care : recommended for reducing redness and irritation. Benefical for all skin types, especially dry sensitive with broken capillaries. Reputed to have a rejuvenating effect on the skin due to its ability to stimulate the growth of healthy new cells.
How to use:
For massage : Mix 3 to 4 drops of essential oils with 3 tablespoonful of carrier oil.
For bath : Drip about 6 to 8 drops of essential oils into bathtub filled with warm water and add 2 tablespoonful of carrier oil.
For vaporisation : Add 6 to 8 drops of essential oils into a tea-light candle burner or electric burner. For tea-light candle burner, do add water.
